Mom has explained it a few times. Something about ornaments, gifts, family celebration and stuff. Below you will see I am trying to find just the right tree, being told to pose, and being scolded (that pee thing again).

Apparently there was a Pet Adoption event and they became seduced by two kittens.

I thought my birthday was cool... trying to get a Snickers from the candy bowl was even more fun! I must admit though (don't tell my mom) I was a little upset with the choice of costume... what dog wants to be a bumblebee? I mean really. (At least I did not have to be a pig with a weird pointy thing on my head... I think it was the snout). Anyway, after all of the attention, an occasional potato chip or lick of a plate, I got used to the bee thing. But next year, I am putting in my bid to be something cool like a WWF guy or maybe a garbage truck driver (then I can get all of the garbage I want to eat). To be honest, I don't think either of those will fly with my mom. If my dad had his way, I would have a mohawk or something. Below are some more pix from the party...

Can you believe it... I'm ONE year old!! It seems just like yesterday that I was peeing and pooping (accidentally of course) where my mom would scream "NO! OUTSIDE! Now! outside. Potty, Potty, Potty!" Didn't she just see I went potty?
Thankfully she forgot about all of that and boy, am I one lucky dog! My mom and dad threw the best one-year doggie birthday party EVER! I had all of my dog pals there to celebrate... Nala, Tyme, Delilah, Neil, Pirate, Dozer, Carly, and Coco (along with their humans).

I can't tell you how many toys were there. We all just played tug-a-war, who can take the stick from who, fetch (not so much my thing but there were other dogs who found it fun to chase that stupid round thing)! Even with all the presents, I got gifts too (not sharing those man!) My auntie Sheryl gave me a water toy, a (supposedly) indestructable toy, a W cookie, and a huge box of treats. I got all kinds of other stuff too... more treats, a new Fall collar from Delilah (she thinks I'm going to share my cookies with her...NOT), a movie with a golden puppy and a bunch of other things! I think the best part was my specially made doggie cake. I think it was made out of yummy peanut butter and carrots (my mom has this thing about healthy teeth and coat... luckily I love most veggies). To top off the cake there was cottage cheese and a Scooby Doo candle. It was the best time ever!!

I think Carmel has to be my most favorite place in the whole world! The whole town is set up for people like me (oops, I mean dogs like me). Not only did we spend hours and hours and HOURS at the dog beach (there were some humans there too), but we went to a jazz bar and there were soooo many dogs. Some were pretty snooty but I saw some other goldens licking their human’s martini glass when no one was looking! Me and my parents were stopped a lot by people who live in Carmel... everyone wanted to know if I was related to some guy named Bentley. No way man, my dad is Barkley (who I guess is a cousin of Bently). Anyway, I got to know everyone by the end of our trip. Our room was cool too. We stayed at the <a href="http://www.carmelhappylanding.com">Happy Landing Inn</a>... where they let dogs stay. It was great, every morning a nice lady with a tray of warm yummy food appeared at our door. I tried to bark and be mean sounding but she filled my mouth up with doggie treats and it was hard to look scary. THEN, on the yummy tray of food, I had my own little bowl of MORE doggie treats. Can this get any better? In a word, YES. I also got to go to all restaurants. None of that tying me up to a meter business. The coolest part, if we were at a table where no dogs had been, I got all the floor droppings to myself (no 5 second rule here brother!) And my parents can be a bit messy too...more crumbs. Then whenever we left a restaurant, people must have thought I was starving, because they were always wanting to give me bits of their hamburger, fries, you name it! I think I gained the most weight...oh well, I will work it off at the beach!
